Tonchin Midtown
13 W 36th Street, New York, NY 10018

Two $22 bowls make this a useful comparison for a table choosing between pork broth and a menu-labelled vegan option.

|---|---|---|

Momofuku Noodle Bar East Village
171 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10003
Why compare this branch?
The branch menu separates chicken and smoked-pork ramen by name and price. Ginger Scallion Noodles ($22) are another noodle dish, not a ramen broth substitute.
| Published order | Broth / noodle or topping detail | Item price / USD |
|---|---|---|
| Garlic Chicken Ramen | Baby spinach and poached egg. | $22.00 |
| Smoked Pork Ramen | Pork belly, poached egg and bamboo. | $23.00 |
Before you go: The branch lists dinner only Monday through Thursday; Friday through Sunday also has lunch.
The ramen photograph is an attributed 2017 archive, not a photograph of the current $23 order. Current prices come from the branch menu server data.
What the checked Google Maps review sample mentions
The displayed reviews are four months old and show mixed reactions. One describes a pork-belly ramen order positively; another explicitly reports disappointment after a promising start. Source profile ↗

ICHIRAN Brooklyn
374 Johnson Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11206
Why compare this branch?
A focused tonkotsu choice for someone who wants to adjust the bowl and add noodles rather than pick from several broth styles.
| Published order | Broth / noodle or topping detail | Item price / USD |
|---|---|---|
| The Classic Tonkotsu Ramen | Pork-bone ramen with an individual customisation sheet. | Not published in checked menu |
| Kae-Dama | An extra serving of noodles; a half refill is listed separately. | Not published in checked menu |
Before you go: No reservations. The branch says it stops seating 40 to 60 minutes before closing.
The branch HTML menu does not publish checked prices. Veggie Ramen is vegetarian, not vegan, according to the restaurant.

Ramen DANBO Park Slope
52 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217
Why compare this branch?
The Park Slope menu lets you choose thin or thick noodles, firmness, broth thickness and richness. Its separate vegan menu prevents confusing a miso seasoning with a vegetarian stock.
| Published order | Broth / noodle or topping detail | Item price / USD |
|---|---|---|
| Classic Ramen | Regular menu: tonkotsu pork broth. | $15.50 |
| Miso Ramen | Regular menu: two miso varieties with the tonkotsu base. | $17.00 |
Before you go: The restaurant says it does not take reservations. Listed prices exclude tax; extras such as the $3 egg are separate.
Photos are sample menu bowls; the restaurant says topping amounts may differ. The limited autumn ginger special is not treated as an evergreen recommendation.

Nakamura
172 Delancey Street, New York, NY 10002
Why compare this branch?
This menu makes the noodle change explicit: thin straight noodles with Torigara, chewy noodles with Tontoro. Choose by broth and texture before adding toppings.
| Published order | Broth / noodle or topping detail | Item price / USD |
|---|---|---|
| Torigara | Clean chicken broth and thin, straight noodles. | $18.00 |
| Tontoro Pork | Creamy pork broth and chewy noodles. | $19.00 |
Before you go: The primary menu identifies the Delancey Street address and both named bowls.
The source photograph does not identify the precise bowl. It is not used to prove the Torigara serving size.

Ivan Ramen
25 Clinton Street, New York, NY 10002
Why compare this branch?
The same $20 price covers two different chicken-based combinations. Tokyo Shio includes dashi and pork chashu; the chicken name alone is not a promise of a pork-free bowl.
| Published order | Broth / noodle or topping detail | Item price / USD |
|---|---|---|
| Chicken Paitan | Rich chicken broth, minced chicken, egg yolk and crispy togarashi chicken. | $20.00 |
| Tokyo Shio | Sea salt, dashi and chicken broth with pork chashu, soft egg and roasted tomato. | $20.00 |
Before you go: The HTML menu also lists thick-noodle Tonkotsu Tsukemen at $24, with the dipping broth served separately.
The linked undated PDF still prints Chicken Paitan $19 and Tokyo Shio $18. The comparison uses current HTML prices, not the older PDF prices.

Okiboru House of Tsukemen
117 Orchard Street, New York, NY 10002
Why compare this branch?
Choose Tsukemen for cold noodles and a separate dipping bowl. Choose TonTori for thin noodles already in broth. These are different serving formats at the same Orchard Street branch.
| Published order | Broth / noodle or topping detail | Item price / USD |
|---|---|---|
| Tsukemen | Cold thick noodles; rich chicken-and-fish dipping broth; choice of pork or chicken. | Not published in checked menu |
| TonTori | Thin noodles in a rich pork-and-chicken broth; choice of pork or chicken. | Not published in checked menu |
Before you go: The Orchard Street listing states no takeout. Use the House of Tsukemen menu section, rather than the chain’s udon or Brooklyn menus.
Prices are not printed in the checked Orchard menu section. The chain-wide food page combines multiple locations.

Ramen Ishida
122 Ludlow Street, New York, NY 10002
Why compare this branch?
The $19 shoyu pair changes both the stock and the noodles. The vegan bowl uses thick noodles and tofu; the chicken bowl uses thin noodles with pork and chicken toppings.
| Published order | Broth / noodle or topping detail | Item price / USD |
|---|---|---|
| New Tokyo Style Shoyu Ramen | Chicken broth with truffle and porcini; thin flour noodles. | $19.00 |
| Vegan Shoyu Ramen | Vegetable, konbu, shiitake and truffle broth; thick flour noodles. | $19.00 |
Before you go: The official site publishes the Ludlow Street address and labelled menu photographs.
The Classic Shio prose mentions pork while its item ingredients do not. That ambiguous dish is excluded from dietary comparisons.

Toribro Ramen
366 W 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019
Why compare this branch?
The menu image distinguishes chicken paitan from the konbu-and-mushroom vegetable bowl. Pork or chicken char siu is a topping choice on paitan, not a change of stock.
| Published order | Broth / noodle or topping detail | Item price / USD |
|---|---|---|
| Toribro Paitan | House-made chicken paitan soup with pork or chicken char siu. | $16.00 |
| Truffle Miso Vegetable | Konbu and mushroom broth with miso, truffle oil and vegetables. | $21.00 |
Before you go: The photographed menu says bowls use thick straight noodles, with wavy noodles available on request.
Menu-image issue date is unknown. $16 and $21 are printed-source prices, not independently confirmed current checkout prices. The vegetable title does not establish a vegan guarantee.

Best ramen for your order: compare the menus
| If you want… | Start with these menu comparisons | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Pork tonkotsu | IPPUDO · DANBO · Tonchin | Compare the bowl, noodle choice and separately priced toppings. |
| Chicken broth | Nakamura · Ivan Ramen · Toribro | Clear Torigara, rich paitan and chicken-plus-dashi are separate menu descriptions. |
| A menu-labelled vegan bowl | Ishida · Tonchin · DANBO | Read the vegan section and toppings; a miso or vegetable name alone is insufficient. |
| Dipping noodles | Okiboru Orchard · Ivan Ramen | Thick noodles and broth arrive separately. This is tsukemen, not a usual soup bowl. |
Item prices are from the named primary menu channel, read October 10, 2026. Toribro prices come from an undated menu image. Taxes, service, extra toppings and serving sizes are not standardised. Photos show source examples, not guaranteed current portions.
Three decisions before ordering
- Vegetarian or vegan: read the stock and toppings. ICHIRAN explicitly distinguishes its vegetarian bowl from vegan.
- One bowl or a refill: DANBO’s egg is a separate extra. ICHIRAN lists whole and half noodle refills.
- Ramen or tsukemen: Okiboru’s thick cold noodles use a separate dipping broth; TonTori uses thin noodles in broth.
Menu photographs can lag behind HTML. Ivan’s linked PDF prints Chicken Paitan at $19 while the HTML menu lists $20. That discrepancy is why each source and channel stays visible.
