Milk tea.
Or yuan yang?
Start with the drink name: Hong Kong milk tea and a coffee-tea mixture are different orders. Here are the preparation clues and the wording used by New York listings.

Hong Kong’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Office documents blending, brewing and repeated pouring as parts of the tea-making technique. Its inventory describes tea strained through a cloth filter and poured into evaporated milk. The cloth-filter association is behind the name “silk stocking milk tea”.
The Woks of Life’s recipe uses black tea and evaporated milk. A NYC menu title alone does not establish its exact tea blend, brewing time or milk brand.

|---|---|---|
| Hong Kong milk tea | Tea and milk; coffee is not part of the basic name. | Check whether the listing is hot or iced. |

| HK iced coffee | Coffee rather than a tea-coffee blend. | E Noodle lists it as H2, separately from H3 and H4. |

The two Brooklyn prices are from menu listings; the Cuppa Tea website confirms its offering and address, while its linked ordering service is the place to check the selected drink and price.
At E Noodle: use the drink code
| Code | Drink | MenuPages item price |
|---|---|---|
| H2 | HK iced coffee | $4.80 |
| H3 | HK iced milk tea | $5.40 |
| H4 | Half HK coffee & half HK milk tea | $5.40 |
H4 names equal halves at this restaurant. That wording is evidence about this order, not a rule that every yuan yang has a 1:1 ratio. For a tea-only drink, H3 is the corresponding listing.
Three questions before ordering
- Temperature: is the selected item hot, iced or available both ways?
- Mixture: does it contain coffee, or is it the tea-only drink?
- Sweetness and toppings: what is already included, and which adjustments can this shop make?
Drink names give a starting point. They do not tell us the caffeine amount, sugar quantity or whether the restaurant can change the recipe.
